Authors: Kinasih, Prananingrum; Syauqy, Ahmad; Margawati, , Ani
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Obesity is a complex chronic disorder and plays a role in increasing degenerative diseases.
Obesity is related to one of its risk factors, namely a sedentary lifestyle, body fat percentage, and muscle mass.
Purpose: To analyze the relationship between sedentary lifestyle, body fat percentage, and muscle mass with
the incidence of obesity in middle-aged and elderly.
Method: Using a cross-sectional study approach involving 153 respondents selected through purposive sampling
technique. The instruments used were the Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire (SBQ) to obtain data on sedentary
lifestyle on weekdays and weekends, Bioelectrical Impedance Analytic (BIA) to obtain data on body fat
percentage, muscle mass, and obesity incidence. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate chi-square tests.
Results: The majority of respondents were aged ≥60 years, female as many as 124 respondents (81.0%) with an
education level of ≤ junior high school as many as 106 respondents (69.3%), and unemployed as many as 131
respondents (85.6%). The sedentary lifestyle on weekdays and weekends was classified as high, the percentage
of body fat of respondents was classified as very high, and the majority of respondents' muscle mass was
classified as low and most were obese. The correlation test of sedentary lifestyle on weekdays and weekends,
percentage of body fat, and muscle mass was 0.000.
Conclusion: Sedentary lifestyle, body fat percentage, and muscle mass are significantly related to the incidence
of obesity in middle age and old age.

Authors: Ikawati, Dewi; Kurniawan, Titis; Pahria, Tuti
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Diabetes Mellitus causes serious complications with increasing incidence rates, due to the lack of
patient support for self-management. The current rise in innovation, one of which is the use of mobile health
which can be used for self-management interventions for diabetes patients
Purpose: To determine the potential for developing mobile health applications in improving self-management of
diabetes mellitus patients.
Method: Literature review research accessed from several databases such as CINAHL, Scopus, Pubmed, and
Google Scholar, published in the last 5 years in the range of 2019-2024. The keywords used are "SelfManagement", "Mobile-Health" or Mobile Applications, "Diabetes Mellitus". Article assessment uses the Preferred
Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
Results: The use of mobile health applications can improve glycemic control, namely reducing HbA1c levels,
fasting and post-prandial blood glucose and contributing to reducing BMI.
Conclusion: Providing interventions with mobile health has been shown to improve self-management in DM
patients.

Authors: Kunang SarI, Cucuk; Suartini, Endang
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Stunting is a problem that occurs in children's growth and development, in the form of poor nutrition,
recurrent infections, and inadequate psychosocial support. Stunting occurs due to two causal factors, namely direct
and indirect factors. The mother's level of knowledge is one of the causes of whether a child will experience stunting
or not. Increased knowledge occurs because of the mother's willingness to follow and know the efforts that can be
made to prevent stunting. A form of maternal knowledge about stunting in toddlers can be in the form of the mother's
attitude towards her child's growth. If some mothers have negative attitudes, their actions and behavior will tend to
be negative and can cause nutritional problems in children.
Purpose: To determine the effect of health education using the focus group discussion (FGD) method on the
knowledge and attitudes of mothers with stunting toddlers.
Method: Quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest approach was
conducted at the Jambe Community Health Center with 32 participants. Sampling used a total sampling technique.
Univariate and bivariate data analysis used the paired sample t-test statistical test with a confidence level of 95%
or p < 0.05
Results: The p value is 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating the influence of health education using the focus group discussion
(FGD) method on mothers' knowledge about stunting toddlers. The results of statistical tests using the paired
samples test on the attitudes of mothers of toddlers obtained a p value of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on these results, it
was found that there was an influence of health education using the FGD method on the attitudes of mothers with
stunting toddlers.
Conclusion: Mothers' knowledge and attitudes can influence children's growth and development so that they do
not experience stunting.
Suggestion: Knowledge is a very important domain for shaping a person's actions, so mothers' knowledge about
stunting toddler’s needs to be expanded further. If a toddler's nutritional status is good, coupled with complete
immunization, it will further improve the toddler's health status indicators. Apart from that, it is necessary to maintain
clean sanitation and the family environment to prevent children from various diseases in the surrounding
environment.

Title: Peran orang tua dalam pengawasan kegiatan bermain gawai dan perkembangan kognitif pada anak usia 3-4 tahun
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Currently, the use of gadgets has become an inseparable part of early childhood, the increase in the
use of gadgets is not only associated with extraordinary benefits for its users, but also excessive use that has an
impact on health.
Purpose: To analyze the role of parents in supervising gadget playing activities and cognitive development in
children aged 3-4 years.
Method: Quantitative analytical descriptive research, conducted in the Quality Family Village (KB Village) of Aceh
Jaya Regency in January 2023. The independent variables are the role of mothers and the use of gadgets, while
the dependent variable is the cognitive development of children. The research instrument used a questionnaire and
data analysis used univariate and bivariate statistical tests with a 95% CI confidence level (a = 0.05).
Results: It is known that there is a relationship between role models (OR=8.38), communication (OR=17.03),
discipline (OR=21.33), giving gifts and consequences (OR=17.04), duration of gadget use (OR=5.44), content
accessed (OR=11.29), and enforced rules (OR=32.67) on children's cognitive development with a p value of each
variable of 0.001. However, no missing data was found on the intensity of use so there was no influence on
children's cognitive development.
Conclusion: The role of mothers in terms of being role models, communication, discipline, giving rewards and
consequences has an influence on children's cognitive development. In addition, the duration, content, and rules
in using gadgets in children can also affect children's cognitive development.
Suggestion: Parents should continue to supervise the use of gadgets on what content is accessed by children, so
that the influence is not negative. In addition, in making rules, mothers must involve children as individuals who will
obey the rules.
