Title: Pola makan, aktivitas fisik, gula darah, dan risiko luka kaki diabetik pada pasien diabetes melitus
Authors: Suprapti, Tuti; Aep Indarna, Asep
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood glucose
(hyperglycemia). The prevalence of diabetes continues to increase until it reaches 578 million in 2030 and 700
million in 2045. Physical activity has an impact on insulin action in people at risk of diabetes mellitus. Lack of activity
is one of the factors that plays a role in causing insulin resistance,
Purpose: To analyze diet patterns, physical activity, and the risk of diabetic foot injuries in diabetes mellitus patients.
Method: Descriptive analytical research using the sampling technique is accidental sampling, with a total sample
of 40 DM patients without wounds. The instruments used were questionnaire sheets in the form of eating patterns
and physical activity with international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ) measuring instruments and blood
sugar measuring instruments. The analysis used in this research is univariate analysis.
Results: As many as 82.5% of blood sugar was controlled at 100-199 mg/dl, 90% of sufferers had a risk of injury
using footwear, 75% felt heat in their feet, 95% felt their pulse in their feet was weak and irregular. The food
frequency questionnaire (FFQ) consists of 28 staple foods in the form of white rice with a frequency of 4-6 times/day,
40%, fresh fish, and 42.5% consume meat with a frequency of 1-3 times/week, so it is necessary to take precautions
to prevent neuropathy. .
Conclusion: The type and amount of food greatly influences the incidence of DM, so assessment and screening
of food patterns needs to be carried out. Apart from that, DM sufferers need to increase physical activity according
to their abilities and the assessment of injury risk needs to be improved to prevent neuropathy.
Suggestion: Health workers need to increase education about wound care, early detection of the risk of diabetic
foot wounds, and carrying out physical activities such as foot exercises.

Authors: Hidayati, Ina; Herawati, , Isnaini
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Type II diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder that causes blood sugar to rise because the
beta cells in the pancreas make less insulin and the insulin does not work properly (insulin resistance) or better
known as diabetes. Data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2015 shows that 415 million people
worldwide suffer from DM and it is estimated that this will increase to around 642 million people in 2040.
Purpose: To determine the benefits of tai chi exercise in lowering blood sugar in people with type II diabetes
mellitus
Method: Case study research using pre and post-test by providing tai chi exercise intervention to type II DM
patients to control blood sugar levels. The DM patient was 53 years old, female, willing to be a research sample,
took part in an exercise program for 2 weeks, and the patient was not sick at the fit sport clinic and rehabilitation
center.
Results: Giving tai chi exercises can reduce blood sugar levels in type II DM cases by showing a decrease in blood
sugar levels with the results of the first therapy being 307 mg/dl and the third measurement after 6 treatments being
219 mg/dl.
Conclusion: Tai chi exercise can reduce blood sugar levels in patients with type II DM.
Suggestion: The patient's family is advised to collaborate with medical personnel to carry out physiotherapy
regarding the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle to normalize blood sugar levels.

Authors: Pasti Gantina, Lisda; Maryati, Ida; Solehati, Tetti
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Reproductive health is one of the global health challenges that needs to be considered in everyday
life. Problems related to reproductive health are closely related to biological health problems in women of
childbearing age. Audio visual media is one of the media that can be used to convey health information, where this
media has the advantage of being able to stimulate various senses so it is hoped that it can increase understanding
about women of childbearing age.
Purpose: To identify the effectiveness of audio-visual media in the reproductive health education process for
women of childbearing age.
Method: Pre-experimental research with a one group pre-post-test design. The research was carried out in
Jatimukti Village on a population of women of childbearing age who attended the advanced and empowered
women's informal school, namely Lampu Juara, with a total sample of 50 people taken using total sampling
techniques. The instrument used was a modified reproductive health instrument to assess knowledge, the validity
test results were 0.294 and the reliability was 0.689. The results of the standard operational procedure test for
measuring breast self-examination skills (BSE) used an intraclass correlation test with a test result of 0.816. Data
analysis used the Wilcoxon statistical test.
Results: Obtained an increase in participants' knowledge of 21.76 and an average increase in skills scores of
25.48. The results of the Wilcoxon test with an asym.sig value of 0.000 (< 0.05) indicate that audio-visual media in
the health education process is significantly effective on knowledge and skills.
Conclusion: Audio visual media in the health education process is significantly effective in increasing reproductive
health knowledge and BSE practice skills, as evidenced by changes in the average score before and after
implementing the intervention.

Authors: Romadiansyah, Zulfitrah; Wahyuni, Sri
Abstract: Abstract
Background: Complementary therapy is part of a nursing intervention that is simple and has no side effects but provides
great benefits for cancer patients who experience side effects from chemotherapy treatment that cancer patients undergo.
Purpose: To determine and analyze complementary therapies that can be applied to cancer patients undergoing
chemotherapy.
Method: Literature review search from various online databases from 2018-2023, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed, and
ScienceDirect, with the search keywords "Nursing interventions AND Complementary Therapy AND Cancer Patients AND
Chemotherapy". This literature analysis uses guidelines from PRISMA and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI).
Result: From the study and review of 10 selected journals, that nursing intervention with a complementary therapy
approach had a significant impact in overcoming the side effects caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients.
Conclusion: Nursing intervention with a complementary therapy approach provide a significant impact in overcoming the
side effects caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients.
Suggestion: Various surgical interventions are useful in overcoming side effects in cancer patients undergoing
chemotherapy treatment, one of which is evidence-based nursing practice (EBNP) and is applied in clinical practice. In
addition, this independent nursing intervention can be carried out directly by the nurse to the patient.
